How It Works

Configure the authentication procedure

The organization implementing this mechanism defines how image-based authentication will be used: whether as 2FA, a password replacement (image + PIN), master account recovery, or other authentication scenarios.

Users enrolls an image

An authenticated user selects an image to serve as an authentication factor. This image is securely linked to the user’s identity. At no point does the server see or store the image itself.

Authenticate the user

During authentication, the user provides the image again when prompted. It could be used for 2FA, as a password replacement, or in other flexible authentication scenarios.

Verification

The system verifies the image locally without exposing it to the server. A strong, FIDO2-compliant authentication process takes place. If authentication is successful, the system grants the necessary access permissions.
